Open a bank account in your home country for your girlfriend and send her the debit card. You can add money to the account anytime you want, and she can access it anytime she wants.

Ticktock, I'll try her bank account number. Her debit card did not work.

I don't want send her money myself. I could use Ikobo for that. It's just if when she wants to buy things on ebay or other places on the internet. It's bad enough when my older relatives used to always ask me to buy stuff for them on ebay because they didn't have a paypal account. Having a girlfriend my age do this too is too much. Many sellers on ebay only accept paypal. I'm just trying to make her more independent. I know there are ebay buyers/sellers that are Thai. I'm just not sure how they get their thai bank account connected to their thai paypal account. I'm missing some step here.

I tried to get my wife a paypal account last year (girl friend then). She had a debit card from Bank of Bangkok. Everything went ok till paypal said they woould post a 2 digit number on her monthly bank statement that she would have to email back. Ha I have never seen a monthly statement and when I tried to explain what we needed at the bank they didn't have a clue. Never did sort it all out. Hope you have better luck.

I'll ask the Mrs if she ever got her paypal set up mate, but I remember her bank saying the same shite that she can't use the card online. Worked fine when she ordered a load of DVDs off amazon though. Shall ask her tomoro if she got the paypal thingy working or not.

I added her SCB account to her Paypal thailand account today. Before I did, it just said make sure it's the right information or there'll be a fee when they deposit money. It didn't say much after I added her account. I'm assuming she'll have to wait a few days, they'll add a few baht, and then she'll have to confirm the amounts. The strange thing is there is no verify accont link like I get when I add a new bank account on my American Paypal account.

It still said she needed to add a credit card to be verified. I sent her a few American dollars to try things out and paypal said she needs a credit card to withdrawl the money too. Maybe that'll change when she gets her bank account verified.

It also looks like she'll get no interest if she stores money in her paypal account. I could be wrong though. The money I sent her is still uncleared. When I sent her money, paypal sent it as an eCheck not as direct payment.

Krung Thai Bank credit cards works, but I cannot pay-off to my Thai bank account. To pay-off I need to offload to my US bank account.
