there are hardly any cops anyplace. and only cameras and selected intersections for traffic control. they never pull over foreigners for stupid traffic violations as in bkk, i drive a motorcycle all the time. so no, there is none of that, maybe in seoul, but i doubt it seriously. where does info like that come from???

my pay is 2.5 mil krw, which is about 2,500 usd. pretty good, no rent, just utilities. the food is a bit high, but so is the pay. same for all of korea, everyone makes good money here.

food is ok, yeah lots of fish if u like it. soju is ok, gives me a headache! kimchi is just kimchi, just a cabbage thing that is spicy. not sure what all the fuss is. its like everyplace, the locals eat the same stuff at almost every meal. its like if we had french fries with every meal.

overall its an ok place, just takes getting used to. just a lot easier teaching and more money and no stupid hassles!

Because it's one of the most unfriendly countries for foreigners in the world. Koreans are racist and xenophobic and the nationalism that's practiced there makes the Thais seem like amateurs.

As RR says, the money's good. I get a tad more than he does, live in a much cheaper place than he does, but I'm in the middle of nowhere and there's nothing to do.

I knew a guy in Indonesia who got lots of ladies. He would just lie and tell them he is muslim, wants to get married, blah blah. Maybe that would work in Korea...

Hey did you hear 70% of all children born in Thailand are female? Also 30% of the males are gay? so that's 2 guys for 7 girls... oh nevermind

I am strongly considering doing the same thing (Public School in Busan or Seoul). How do you find the contrast to teaching in BKK. I am thinking more about the teaching differences rather than the lifestyle ones. Such as how does student behaviour compare? Are the materials any good? Are the student/administration/parent/co-teacher expectations reasonable? Are the lessons primarily conversation or do you do allot of grammar, reading and writing, etc.? Is the administrative work reasonable? How many hours a week do you actually spend marking, prepping, etc.? How many different grade levels and skill levels are you expected to cover?

Sorry about the barrage(sp) of questions but inquiring minds want to know.
