Hmmm, not sure where best to post this!
I was initially looking to move to Thailand in October, but am debating postponing until December/ January time for various reasons. I have a degree, am part way through a "combined" tefl course, and have some tutoring experience. I am looking to tach primary age group, definately in Asia.
Will anywhere hire at this time, and if so where? (not necessary Thailand).
Language schools don't usually have a semester system. And since you're new, language schools are a good place to start. There are literally thousands of them in Asia.
but it is also the worst time to arrive hoping to find a decent situation as well. if you can't make it in the early autumn i'd suggest you wait until the spring. of course it's a bit different in other countries, most people want to work in thailand. i arrived in viet nam at end of february many years ago and started work straight away, but came to thailand two years ago at xmas and it was four months before i found something i could live with.
then again you are female with a degree, which should make things quite a bit easier for you. viet nam is a much more flinty place for foreigners to get on in, but there appears to still be plenty more work at much better wages.
Ok, thanks. If I decide to delay teaching, I plan to travel a little first. Will I be able to get a visa for say china or Taiwan if I am in India?
