Reporting every three months
In mid-1998, Immigration revived enforcement of a rule requiring foreigners to register their address with immigration if they stay in the country over 90 days. It is important to note that you have to make this report before the 90 days is up (and that is 90 actual days, NOT three months).
Is this 90 day reprting only if you have a Work Permit !
or if you have a Non Imm B and will stay longer than 3 months
then you must also 90 day report ?
is it 90 days or less ? Where to register and report in BKK ?
Well you can do it 7 days either side so it's not EXACTLY every 90 days mate!Originally Posted by Ray
No it's for anyone that stays here for over 90 days. Could be on an extended retirement Visa, extended spousal Visa, extended Non-imm ED Visa....extended tourist Visa due to sickness (in theory you should still report). Is this 90 day reprting only if you have a Work Permit !
Generally unless you have a work permit to extend it a Non-imm B NEVER lasts longer than 90 days mate...the only other way I can think of is if you're using the Non-imm B as a spousal Visa and have extended it, ir if you're getting a little extension on the 90 days to give you time to obtain a WP...or possibly due to sickness as per above.or if you have a Non Imm B and will stay longer than 3 months
Basically if you stay here for longer than 90 days on ANY valid Visa...you gotta report.then you must also 90 day report ?
WTF???is it 90 days or less ?
Immigration office Soi Suan Phlua or whatever it's called in Sathorn (if you live in Bangers). You can do it by mail or messenger!Where to register and report in BKK ?

Actually mate..rather than me giving you every possible scenario...why not explain your situation and I can advise accordingly...rather than trying to guess what you have etc.???

err, yes
Hello Ken,
That information is great...many thankyous,
sorry to make you work so hard, did not realise there were so many variables !
I will arrive back with a 60 day Tourist Visa or a Non Imm B, not sure yet still talking with some thai friends about Business letters and Registration and Tax Certificates required to get the Non Imm B,
I had read on this forum about 90 (80) day reporting yet was not sure who it applied to,
thankyou
^ No worries mate.
You'll not need to worry about it for the foreseeable future (well at least 90 days from when you arrive). Let us know what happens and we'll HELP!!! For sure, no diggety....no doubt! Word to your Nephew!
Well there's no such thing as a work Visa per se, rather a Visa with a work permit on top.Originally Posted by tafy68

I went today and registered my address with immigration.I have been talking to some crew who said that they have been here for years and have never done it. Am I wasting my time?
No mate once you start you can't really stop (or shouldn't)...if you never start you seem to get away with it....well until you don't!
Your 'crew' (posse?) will sooner or later have to pay the fine IMO!
You can do it by mail mate if you don't want to go in person.

Ok. yes, that is what I was after.........good.
Another question Ken,
Lets say my Thai friends provide me with the Company Business letter and Certs and I get the Non Imm B,
Yet I am not realy working for that Thai Company ! I am doing my own thing !
Complications ?
any offerings appreciated,
PM me mate and I'll get back to you on Sunday and advise accordingly.
Sometimes it's not good IMO to be too open on public websites!

By mail ? really
i wish they told me that before taking a day off work. Do you have any more detail's on doing it by mail ?
I may be wrong, but I think you can only do it by mail if you live outside Bangkok. Let me run a check for you.

I think that varies from place to place. I've been through this with the Immigration in Nakon Shri Tammarat and the answer is "no" to mail in.You can do it by mail mate if you don't want to go in person.
In person only. I've gone there with Thai school administrators each time and asked them to please ask about this.
Always a strong "no"...in person only.
For me it means a day off school and a three hour return journey.

here is a link to where I read the "outside Bangkok" part. But I'd double-check anything I read on Thaivisa

^ I think someone said the other day it's doable by mail here here in Bangers and they'd done it as someone else said you couldn't anymore.
At the worst send a messenger (that's what I do).
