    90-day report date re-set?

I just got back from a 3 week trip out of Thailand. My current visa runs to March 22, '07. I had a 90-day report date of January 15, '07 but I was still away at that time. I went to Immigration on the 23rd, prepared to pay the fine for missing the report date. I was told, however, that since I'd left the country (and gotten a multiple-entry visa) that my 90-day reporting dates were re-set according to the date upon which I returned to LOS.
I thought that the 90-day reports were based upon the year covered by one's visa, but this lady at Imm. said it is based upon the days one is in-country, so my next reporting date is set for somewhere around the 20th of April ( don't have the PP in front of me right now). I'm worried that when my school renews my visa at the end of March, they're going to be told something different, such as that I didn't report in on the original 90-day date of Jan.15th, (although, at her insistence, I wrote down the lady's name and badge number for verification.)

Has anyone else been told, or experienced, this?

Your 90 days begin to run from the date you return to Thailand. I went through the same thing previously and there are a couple of threads around here dealing with the same subject. Not to worry.

    Re: 90-day report date re-set?

Are you talking about the 90 day reporting of residence Rocker? If so then you only have to report if you are in Thailand for 90 days consecutively.
For example. If I left Thailand the week before my 90 days reporting was due for, lets say, a 2 week holiday back to England and then came back to LOS my 90 days reporting would start again from when I reentered LOS.

If my report date was the 20th January and I left Thailand on the 19th January and came back to LOS on the 10th February my 90 day reporting would be 90 days from the 10th February.

    Hope this helps.
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no Interior Minister of Thailand's son.

    Re: 90-day report date re-set?

Yes, I was Columbia, but my apparent error was in thinking that the 90-day periods were related to the visa currently in progress. Apparently, as you termed it, it is more of a 'residence'
reporting function than one of advising Imm. that nothing has changed in the conditions upon which one's visa was issued (employer, place of employment, etc.). Thanks to you and SJCG for your quick replies.
