This year they got every teacher at my uni who had not been reporting. Painless though, just 2,000 baht before they would issue the year.

^ I've been doing mine for the last 6 or so years JB....as did most of us here. I got the bit of paper stapled in then as well (it was actually 2K fine before....now for the last 2 or 3 years it's been 5K but they still only charge the old 2K rate...generally).

I cant remember if I had the bit of paper then, but I know that I didn't report and nor did anyone else from our company.
^ Well you should have had the bit of paper JB...it's always been around since I've been here, and you lot should have reported as well you EVIL LAW BREAKERS YOU!!! Best watch out CC don't report you for flaunting the country's laws.....you start by not registering....next thing you know there's an orgy of blood, death and PAIN
Well my uni is going in Friday, so they will do it for me. I like that.
There are a couple of real advantages in doing the 90 day reporting.
(1) When you need proof of address for a driving licence (or renewal), Immigration will give you the requisite letter for free. A lot less expensive that using an embassy, and a lot less hassle than trying to get a letter out of the local Ampur office.
(2) To buy a car you need a similar letter. Again, free from Immigration.
