sounds quite articulate in recent posts (and many events likely true as a result of his actions), IMO.
though, maybe has revised things in his mind, a bit, as many people don't have great memory recall.
from his posts on his wall, a year ago, he says he "kinda lost it" and wanted to "give everything away" and "live without anything" which caused the problems, the arrests and was a "good experience" though "stupid of him".
makes more sense, IMO, than all of this happening to him while he was just an innocent victim, as it were, like he recently posted:

I don't doubt, not even for a second, that this chap was beaten by the police, was locked up and eventually spent time in Klong Prem, but I do doubt his 'hazy' recollection of events. They are just too implausible to be real. Thai cops, in general, do not stop you on your way to work, make you dance like a monkey and then fight them because you met them 3 weeks earlier at 5am when they were waving their guns around in a dodgy boozer. It just isn't a realistic scenario. At least not in my world. The last fuckin Thai copper who asked me to dance like a monkey was very satisfied with my monkey dance and let me go on my merry way to my place of employment without so much as a lor or a ling.

I think his story is plausible. The dancing for the Police thing is quite far out, but not impossible.
I kid you not, the dancing like a monkey is 100% true, that's the thing that triggered everything, of course I thought it was bizarre, I guess they wanted to humiliate me on my soi............ that's the only thing I can think of.
Lesson learnt be it the hard way.
---Update---
That was post beating, semi crazy, when i got kicked out of my gaff, I lived on the streets etc...... thought I could live with nothing, like an urban bear grylls, lol, i was kinda out of it at that time.
---Update---
When i was let out of klong prem i was taken to huamark police station on ramkhamheng, held for 2 days then carted off to IDC for about 19 days, until i got the money sorted for a flight home........... I will scan and post the charge sheets, I have 3 of them and a deportation notice, when i get time to nip to the library as i dont have a scanner at home.
My whole point, in my usual muddled way, is that you say you were locked up for not having a passport, I would have thought that this would be an immigration offence and therefore you shouldn't have ended up at Khlong Prem. If you didn't have a passport (why the hell not?), surely that would be handled between Immigration and the UK Embassy? Do you see my point? If I lose my passport, I don't get locked up in Khlong Prem, I get the UK Embassy to issue a new one (or whomever does it now in HK/UK). There is no need for me to be sent to court and convicted then sent to Khlong Prem for 6 weeks, that just ain't gonna happen and is a large whole in your sorry tale. Let us see the charge sheet so we can actually see some of the facts of this story that are lacking to date.
Also, I am sorry to keep harping on about it, but this monkey dancing business is just plain daft. Either there is a great deal more to this story or you are the most stupid twat to ever step off a plane at Swampy. Really, putting aside the fact that the cops asking you to monkey dance for no reason, why would you then think it was a good idea to have a fight with them? That is not the action of a sober or sane individual. You had been here a while, you knew the cops' reputation, yet you thought it would be a good idea to fight them? Unbelievable. Everyone knows that you should give a wide-berth to Thai cops, especially if they are asking you to do a monkey dance. You seem to suggest that you were familiar with the language and culture, so what possessed you to want to fight the cops? Surely a smile, a wai and a bit of respect would have been a better course of action? And that is all aside from the fact that most (if not all) cops wouldn't bother to do anything here unless there is monetary value in it. You seem to suggest that these cops were acting out of some other motive. I have never seen a beat copper do anything unless there is monetary value attached or his superior tells him to. Simple as that.
Come on my friend, tell us the real story. This monkey dance bullshit is just that, bullshit. There is definitely more to this story than you are telling. It just isn't plausible. Monkey dances leading to beatings and then you threatening the cops? Jesus mate, either you are the worlds most stupid twat, or, more likely, you are being economical with the truth.
Sweetness... another vchamp.... although vchamp was sleeping with the Police's daughter, Kurt here was fucked up in a different way. Ouch.
In any case, I think the story is believable... but he's definitely left out some rather incriminating details. Perhaps that'll be in his book. What I don't like about the guy's story is that he SYMPHASISES with the red shirts. Anyone who does that has got to be fucking daft. Please prove me wrong -- in fact, I hope Kurt CAN prove us "kill all red shirts" wrong.
So how bout it Kurt... what do you really think about the red shirts? Can you educate us into their true nature/cause? Are they the good guys or are they really the criminals and tools we thought they were in the first place? What about setting up a campaign to educate Thais as to what the red movement is really about? Maybe that would make a better story for your book?
I wish I could afford to make just a dollar a year.

There are some twats on this thread, and Kurt ain't one of them. Give the guy a break. FFS.
Look guys, I just wanted to tell it as it happened, yes i may have been temporarily insane, the monkey dance thing is true, why would i invent such a thing? seriously?
goo stew, maybe I was a complete loon at the time, but I can assure you I am completely sane now.
Maybe the cops were bought off by the guy who scammed me, maybe they took a disliking to me, maybe they wanted to make an example of me, I just don't know and probably never will.
I will scan the charge sheets on Monday and send them to photobucket or something like that so I can put them on here
Peace, out
Dude, can you just fast forward the tale to when you had your shit pushed in?![]()
Like that type of thing do you Mucker? fortunately there was none of that, but a few Kateoys took a liking to me, but i refused there offers of a blowy![]()
^you gonna post that charge sheet any time soon, or are we gonna conclude that this whole monkey dancing bollox is just that - bollox?
A few facts about this boy's case came by me the other day, so i thought i bring it up again.
Our man was a shining example of an EFL teacher when he first started at the school he wrote about, however he soon started to slip and his behaviour was becoming more and more erratic. late, stinking, missing work, looking like shit.
He was also constantly skint while working at the school, (through an agency). Those around him were pleading with him to get some assistance to sort his personal problems out prior to arrest.
On the morning of his arrest it was a working day, he was picked up at 5 in the morning. He claims he was on his way to work, but he was wearing a blue shirt and hippy fisherman pants with flip flops. It was just after pay day and he was once again skint. (make your own minds up as to where is money was going, but ice is most probable the culprit.) 35,000 in a few days.
He was arrested for being drunk and disorderly, (on his way to work remember). the cops did give him a kicking, but probably because he was being an obnoxious cunt. The cops wanted him to pay a small fine of a few hundred baht, and sign a release form, he would do neither.
The agency and school got involved to get him out of nick. Obviously he lost his job because all this went on during a school day. The agency let him go as well, they even paid him more than what he was due to try and help him. They did everything they could to encourage him to contact family back home for help because he was clearly in a shit state.
After this i'm not sure what happened, but i reckon he went down hill quickly until picked up by the cops and deported.
Summary: Alcoholic becomes Junkie, loses the plot, get arrested, loses the plot further, deported for vagrancy and visa overstay.
Mixing these facts with what was written by him, i don't think the dudes he was drinking with were red shirt members, but drug dealers, hence the guns and shit. Our boy thought he was being the big man by swimming with sharks, all they did was sold him enough ice in order to take his wages every month.
---Update---
Whoever the fuck you are, you're wrong. Kurt was the biggest twat of all.
