Double entry tourist visa :How many are possible?

Hi.
Does anybody know if people are being denied a 2nd double entry tourist visa recently at the Thai consulate in Vientiane?
An Aussie who runs a small L. school told me today that I probably will not be able to go to Vientiane and get a second double entry when my 6 months is up at the end of September. She said that even though its only one sticker,it counts as 2 entries already,and that is all that they will issue now.

I haven't read any reports on any websites in regards to Thai immigration issues of applicants being denied a second single or double entry Tourist Visa.

Maybe they're sending a message to your friend who is obviously gaming the system. You don't run a language school and make visa runs.

don't know what things are like now, but i lived here on tourist visas for 4 years. got a non-B 3 years ago when i decided getting a job would be prudent so it's not current information. i suspect however that a second visa isn't going to look suspicious.

You could do that forever. You could retire in Thailand on a tourist visa. The retirement visa has a lot traps ...

Two days ago I was in Vientiane getting a new tourist visa. I have maybe 8 or so in my passport along with one non b. They refused to give me a double entry 60 day. I also had to write and sign a letter explaining all the visas. I was then given a single entry 60 day for 1000 baht.

Cluezo, I am eligible for a retirement visa in about a week and am considering it. What kind of traps did you encounter? The money in the bank part is ok with me, I trust these banks as much as the ones back home.

I'm just now looking into it. The money part is ok with me too but I'm not sure about criminal background part of it ... might have to stand back and observe ...
