Yesterday my 14 th month old daughter fell over flat on her face and broke her front tooth
Took her to Hospital where the Dentist put her in a straight jacket and performed a root canal ( It was terrible I almost had a heart attack )
The Dentist said she was unable to affix a crown so she put a stainless steel sleeve over her tooth ...Now she looks like Jaws fro James Bond movies.
Does anyone know of any alternatives to this ugly device ?
^ No idea mate...my kid's front teeth are totally fucked (one pulled out, one rotten away and one in it's way) he had the same problem (chipped the front two) but the doctor/dentist told us we couldn't do anything until he was like 4 years old.
Pull it out maybe? His school pulled one out for him the other day and will do the others soon! I hope his next lot are better than this lot!

They saved the tooth
but the stainless steel cap is ugly ..they said there is no white caps they can use

Why did they do a root canal? Aren't those teeth scheduled to fall out and be replaced, anyway?
Also, there are composite fillers they can use to fashion parts of a tooth from. I have one on one of my front teeth from a chip I got years ago. You can't tell the difference from looking at it. Composites are not strong enough for molars, but they're fine for incisors.

I think the enamel (sp?) went when he cracked the front two...now they're just being eaten away.

The Tooth split diagonally exposing the centre of the tooth . Doc said had to take out centre and fill other wise my baby would get the tooth infected
( maybe into the jaw bone)
Unable to use composite fillers because she is too young. Dentist said she was the youngest she had ever worked on.

one of my kids fell over and busted a front tooth
he was older than ur lil 'un though
the main thing is to make sure that the second lot of front teeth come out straight
I guess the dentist knows wot he's doing *(hoping)
I suggest u take her to see an orthodontist m8

^ Well the dentist we took him to said we had to wait and the one at the school pulled them out. I think once the enamel is gone...is there much you can do? They are his first lot...so not the end of the world...but want to try to instill in him that he must clean his teeth a fair bit or suffer!!!
If the teeth get broken,,, or the enamel gets damaged in a fall
it's much much harder, almost impossible, to stop 'em going bad
jus make shua the 2nd ones come out straight 'n normal = vital
