I am married to a Thai national. I have no savings. I want to start a family and live here forever.
What happens when I am an old man and too old to work (or look too old to be employable etc etc)?
If I dont work - no work permint - no work permit - no visa - no visa - get the hell out of the country.
Seems harsh that I would have to leave as an old man who has a family and has lived in Thailand for many many years.
What the hell are the options
(lets persume no large saving because of lifes costs - I'm only a teacher, on a teachers wage)
(please excuse grammer, spelling etc. I'm beyond tired and just need to sleep)
Useful/help/informative/sane answers would be nice please

If you want to continue living in Thailand you have to plan for the future and put away savings - too many don't seem to. This issue is partly why some of us have had to leave Thailand to make money/build up a pension fund before perhaps returning to Thailand at some date in the future.

like for example I heard something about a 'residencey permit'.
You need to have 3 years tax receipts, married, child, fluent Thai speaking and writing abiliy.
However not sure if this information is correct.....supose I have to stop being lazy and do some research....any help would be great?

Some people focus on work, career, and money making opportunities. Others focus on after work activities. Guess which group don't have the same questions that you do.
Yes. Not sure you need a child or fluency, but you will probably need to show substantial savings.
Start searching for jobs in Korea or the Emirates.
If you're American you have more options via Govt programs.

My next door neighbours have challenged me to a water fight , so I am just writing this while I am waiting for the kettle to boil .
^But not without money. You can't live anywhere with no money - so guess what young men should concentrate on.
Not a lot of options .. if any. All I can think of is to live in some remote place, keep a lo-pro and make a ton of contingency plans just in case.
Leave, go somewhere and earn some real money, plan for your return.
