yeah, a mate of mine who has been coming back and forth shagging whores for a few years now reckons that the grasping element is getting worse.
you spend 600 or 700 baht in a bar and you tip the waitress 20 baht and then she calls you "kiniow" and EXPECTS more. fruiting cheek. they wanna try working for it.
you are in some bar and some aged scrag asks you to buy her a drink for no apparent reason and you decline and they say "why you not buy me drink". i usually say something like "because i not want to fcuk you so i not buy you drink". then there are the hos who ask for 4 grand when they are just not even that nice. i just laugh in their faces. one threatened to bottle me but i was disgusted. i'm working away for fuck all and this whore thinks she can charge 4 grand for an fcuk?!! i can do without thanks.

Simple AO, you are advocating handing a full day's wages to the staff here. It is preceisely the same as handing $ 50 to a US waitress and furthermore you are making life hard for the poorer teachers who can't afford to hand over large tips. Why should guys earning half your income have waitresses spitting in their food, as you claim they do, simply because you are throwing money about like a tourist and they cannot? I sure don't want to go to any restaurant where you have been.
I give my hairdresser a Bht 20 tip, and she hasn't spat in my hair yet or given me a mohican. I do see absolute fools handing over tips that are larger than the salon charges. The girls don't think the money is a "reward" - they simply believe the farang has more money than he needs so he gives it away.
Since you have never been to my local restaurant you really can't comment, but I receive excellent service there, am on good terms with the staff and the owner. Indeed two past waitresses were fired when they were caught overcharging me. On both occasions it was the other waitresses that told the owner, not me.

No I was brought up tipping Chang, and buying things for other people as well. My father thought being a miser was one of lifes bigger sins, and he passed that on to me.
