You let the Japs walk in to build their death camps and railways and then had the cheek to change sides when the Japs lost.
Only the actions of a few Seri Thai prevented major allied revenge on the country.

My wifes dad used to hunt Japanese soldiers in WWII. That is a very true story. The issue is much deeper than as put by Diaw. Dont forget the Thais flung the USA out of Thailand when they found out we were bombing Laos and Cambodia from Thai airfields.

Thing with the news and specifically bad news is that it sells better than good news and often will over hype what is really happening so isn't really the truth per se as you don't get everything else.

Britain wanted to punish Thailand by taking the southern states and add to Malaysia (linking Malaysia and Burma). USA said no. Funny as the USA saved Thailands borders BUT if the British had there way then the Sourthern states would have been Malaysian. Funny old world!
