    ..and JD m8

I haven't had to sacrifice my soul ...sell my dignity ....at all in Thailand

    not at all

I treat people with respect is all ...and I get treated that way myself

    I'm talking about in work

the crazies who populate the tourist and bar areas ...u fool with at ur own peril

    same as anywhere else

I guess u've been hurt here too ...by the sounds of it

sorry about that m8 .... the next country might suit u better

    Cheers anyway

i enjoy this place now and then. i dont really like working here though at all. i wouldnt mind working for a company that wasnt thai or working for myself. in my life i have visited a few places and decided to go back and live there. when getting there i was ecited and felt fullfilled for a few months, then it slips away and you wish you were still on holiday, and look for the next destination. now i am in a situation where i need to settle. its ok, but not great. but what is great?

Hurt? Are you joking? I haven't a single expectation. So 8-ball, maybe if you never had to compromise your dignity there was never any instilled in you. If it's easy for you to sway to Thai, Thai was in you all along. No wonder you left.

I had a great time. I had been in Thailand 3times before I love the place. What has age got to do with it?? Maybe when your older you will realise you wanna leave. Maybe when you were younger you wanted to leave but didnt. Id rather make something of myself in my country. Thailand is smiles and lies. I didnt have one bad experience here but i just saw through it.
Met a lot of teachers on the visa run trips and I said to myself I dont wanna be in their situation when Im that age. Maybe you are successful, fairplay but you have to agree with Jd's post. and the majority of teachers here are not successful. English ''teachers'' are not appreciated at all in Thailand. They have a bad name and 50% probably deserve it.

I am home. I doubt JD was hurt here. i reckon he just saw through all the teaching in thailand shit. .
And it wasnt a holiday for me I worked 2jobs six days a week. The job was great. Thats not why I left. I left because of the system and I didnt have the qualifications to be part of it. It got to me. I was lying everyday and I didnt want to live like that.

I think you're just comparing real life 'successes' to people who tell you they are successes on the internet.

Nothing to do with Thailand - that difference exists wherever you are.

Aqua. I meant make something of myself in my country like you have made something of yourself in yours. Nothing specific. Good job , house etc. Just meant I didnt want to do it in Thailand

That's where you started, prem, and it's a fair point. No need to move from that to knocking other folks with different lives and teaching credentials - something you imply when you say Thailand can't be taken seriously in the long term.

you were working illegally and got caught. Just like an artichoke picker in Capitola Ca. Dont blame Thailand because you had no degree, no experience, and got a shit job.

I want to be an airplane pilot always have but cant. Its that simple.

Re: Burn-out and getting trapped here

I havent knocked anyone. read my previous posts. I am aware there are successful people here. I was just giving my opinion. The 50% who deserved a bad name were the 50% i met. Not 50% of teachers in thailand.
If people are teaching here and happy thats great but I wasnt qualified so i felt shit because I was a fraud and Im glad I realised that rather than carrying on. hello JD.
    -----
What are you talking about? I didnt get caught at all. And yes I was working a ilegally and i reckon I made the right choice by quitting and getting qualified by going to college not buying a degree. Im not blaming Thailand. Its my opinion
