Anyone here who has any idea on a good driving school?
How do I get an international driving license for Canada? I have a driving license from my country Singapore.....Please provide details.
Thank you.
You should be able to go to your local Automobile Association with your current license and get an IDL. If you are in Singapore, look for that. If you are in Canada, look for the CAA.
I am still in Thailand but will move to Canada soon.....
How do I get an Intl DL here? I got my local DL from Singapore....

I reckon this varies from province to province, because where I'm at the letter of residence came from the local Thai immigration office, and not my embassy. My school obtained the letter of residence for me, no problemo.Originally Posted by Deaner
Also, the folks at my local transportation office wanted copies of my work permit. Oh yeah, make sure you've got at least 2 signed copies of everything.
I think the best strategy would be to ask another farang in the area who's got a DL what the scoop is, collect the necessary stuff and then head on down to the local transport office to begin the struggle. Nothing's written in stone over here.
I agree, although my letter of residence came from the main police station in my area, and the cops came to visit me to make sure I lived there, after a cold beer they were very happy to stamp the letter for meOriginally Posted by champagne charlie

In my province it will be hard to get a Letter of Residence from the police station since they dont produce documents in English. I got my Police Clearance Cert in BKK.. Does this mean I should get my L of R from Royal Thai Police too?
Do I need to get a Thai DL in order to get an INTL DL?
Thank you....

DEANER: you mentioned of office hours - What office is this? BKK Transportation Office?
Anyone who can recommend a driving school in BKK?
