As most of you know, I'm moving in two weeks. There's a small garden in front of the house. I have some nice potted plants, but what do I do about the ground? Here, at the house I'm moving out of, I had weeds growing like crazy in the garden area and I would have them cut about once a month.
My neighbours across the soi have grass, but I've heard that grass is difficult to grow here. So, for you green thumbs, what can you recommend for a small garden for someone who knows NOTHING about plants or gardening.

crazy paving,
a goat
or adopt a small klong family complete with corrugated iron shed.
all three should be enough to combat weeds, option three would probably be the cheapest.
Henry is right, hire someone for a day to sort the weed out first.
How about some picture of your garden Nat...might be able to give you some idea if I can see how the place looks like.

Arrrgggghhhhh, I had some bad luck yesterday and today. It looks and feels like it's gonna pur down rain any minute now. I'm going out for noon and I'll bring my camera, which I forgot yesterday, when I went to the house.![]()
Nat, buy strips of grass and roll them out over your garden. The garden centre that you buy them from will either advise you how to get rid of the weeds first and prepare the surface or they may even do it themselves for a small fee. You'll have a lovely neat lawn in no time.

LLL, that's the answer I was hoping for!!!! If it's that easy, then I'm on it. I'll get my camera out of the truck and post the pics.
You could always get astroturf. Your goat won't eat it and you can carry on with that fitness routine Nat.
Congrats on shaking off the neighbours though.
Thanks, Bean. My goats need their food, though.![]()
Shady yard Malay grass, sunny yard regular Thai sod. I think its sold more in like 1/2 meter squares. At least up here in BKK.![]()
