That's either bs, or the recipe has changed quite a lot.

You can always google the terms "buy Absinthe in thailand" You'll find where to buy it.

For me I have my friend carried them from Beijing Airport though.

It isn't bs....I believe you need the type with wormwood in it for that effect....the stuff without it is a pale imitation (typed from memory so I could be wrong about the details)

You are right about that, I believe the original recipe was lost after decades of consecutive banning in multiple european countries. Best and closest available can be found is in Czech Republic (dunno if it makes it to BKK). The usual practice of producers is erring on the safe side about alcoholic strengths, trying to imitate said famous effects. Last I brought home was 86%, a bit lighter than kerosene. Fun stuff, anyway, carried one of my best mates back to his childhood, just about to the 3 years old stage to judge by the blabbering laughs.

For the adventurous kind out there, Trendiest shot in Lisbon Portugal among college students for the last years has been the "Kalashnikoff", 50% Vodka 50% Absinthe. Never got to try it, my travel insurance didn't cover acts of absolute and utter despise for oneself's life.
The rose of all the world is not for me, I want for my part
only the little White Rose of Scotland, which smells sharp and sweet,
    and breaks the heart.
