Absinthe in Thailand?
On behalf of myself and a friend... does anyone know if it's possible to get absinthe in Thailand and, if so, where?

If you can't find it, please remember the old British saying - "Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder."

Re: Absinthe in Thailand?
Hideous stuff with a rotten taste. You gotta be in your teens or 20's to drink that shite.
I did four large ones in succession and everything took on a purple haze, only it wasn't enjoyable.
Never again!!!!!!!

Re: Absinthe in Thailand?
I'm sure I saw it at King Power, Duty Free on the way in to Thailand, it cought my eye as it looked like they were repackaging and branding the bottle to make it look trendy, not for me I'm afraid, felt6 safer with my Bottle of Penfolds Red

Re: Absinthe in Thailand?
I've got one bottle in me fridge in Surat. I had this from my German mate who came to visit me in Guernsey. I couldn't find this stuff anywhere in the UK, was told that it is banned.

Re: Absinthe in Thailand?
Thanks everyone. We got some (teehee) last night at Siripoom. Now does anyone know where my friend can buy a bottle to take back to Korea with him?
hmm, I guess this wasn't really a "practicality" of living in Thailand... I just put it here because it seemed to fit in with all the other "Where can I find..." threads.

English as a Second Language or ESL refers to instructing English in a country where English is already the main or official language. "TESL" (US, Aus, UK)
-EFL is the other one.

We asked, but they wanted 3000 baht or something totally ridiculous. anyway, we found it today at Carrefour... Parnasse, 50% alcohol, 875 baht. I haven't tested it yet (job interviews tomorrow and all) but my friend says it's good stuff and based on how completely hammered he was when I left his house a few minutes ago, I'd have to agree.

Re: Absinthe in Thailand?
I don't know about in Thailand, but I know that I recently saw a Yahoo! News article that the stuff was being made available in the Chicago area in some stores.
They quoted it as the stuff that made the likes of Edgar Allan Poe see visions.
