There used to be a GamesWorkshop at Siam Discovery. But fuck... right when I found enough time to pay a visit so I can pick up a starter set for Warhammer -- BOOM. I was a few days late -- the hobby store had closed and I was left shit-outta-luck.
So the question is --- does anyone know where I can pick up Warhammer stuff here in Bangkok? Warhammer is a table-top game played with armies of miniatures that you hand-paint yourself. It's probably THE best table-top miniatures game because the models are simply the most detailed on the whole friggin planet and the battle field (which you also build yourself with architectural modeling supplies) with an assembled army on it is something to behold. These ain't your typical tin soldiers or plastic platoons.
Anyways... just dying to get a copy. Don't want to have to order it from Amazon just yet.
Just some pics of the stuff:

There was a place in The Mall at Bangkabi called Game and Hobby or something like that. They sold wargames, RPGs and miniatures. Dunno if they're still in business.
Or you could get a Windows based PC and play Warhammer Online
Warhammer: Mark of Chaos
or Warhammer: 40,000: Dawn of War

Thanks mugwump. I'll check it out. Hopefully they're still in business. I had to order my D&D stuff through Amazon.com.
I'm already playing World of Warcraft, which is probably the best online fantasy RPG for this. As much as possible I don't want to be using computers for everything... and I reckon getting started on the classic Warhammer tabletop game would be a nice change of play for me and my son when he's old enough. Either this, or I can always get him started with D&D. Fortunately I have the Core 3.5 ruleset, the Basic Game and the Player's Kit (2 of em even)... enough stuff to last. I say 'fortunately' because the current version (4th ed D&D) is starting to rely on computers I hear. Stupid... considering the whole point of D&D was to play AWAY from 'puters. So Im just glad I have the last edition where the rules weren't stupified into point-n-click with the mouse. I have World of Warcraft if I need anything like that.
Alright... looks like I'll be checkin' out Bangkapi. I hear it's far though... just hope it ain't too far...
I've got a bunch of Call of Cthulhu, and d6 and d20 Star Wars stuff scanned into .pdf files if you want.
Cheers. Actually I've got more than I can handle at the moment: Aside from the sets I've ordered, I've downloaded heaps of the other D&D titles including the Monsters Manuals II, III and IV, The Psionics Handbook (arrrghhh,, psionics...![]()

), Complete Book of (this and that) and plenty other stuff. Right now I'm putting together a full-res, printable, coloured set of Character Sheets for every character class in D&D and I'm writing a set of Solo Adventures for Thai D&D Players (ie: people who don't sprechen Sie und verstehen Sie English very well). Thanks anyways

the shop called battlezone closed down a while back, there is a toy shop on the 3rd floor next to the Lacoste shop that carries a small range
thats the best you will do here
not sure you will get a manual though
try singapore, theres a shop on orchard road
Serial Wolf Bagger
Oh... I hadn't noticed. I do remember another hobby shop but I'm pretty sure they didn't have table top games (it was a regular scale-model hobby shop)![]()
Hmmm. Would definitely try Singapore, if only I were going there. Then again I do have brothers in Singapore and Australia and I can probably have them send something over if I direly need it. Otherwise I'll try to get it myself here if I can.
theanimaster,
This might be old news for you.
You can get Warhammer stuff at Fantasia on the 3rd Floor, Siam Discovery Center, close to the Lacoste store.
There is a small corner in the store that sells Warhammer (Fantasy and 40K). It is run by a guy name Chu. He is there Monday, Wednesday-Sunday. Tuesday is his day off.
You can get miniatures, paints, and rulebooks there.
And most games are played during the weekend.
There is also a forum for Thailand Warhammer Community. Since this is my first time, I cannot post the URLs to other sites. Therefore you must search google for Rendezvous Warhammer Board.
Cheers
hey man i dont know where to get warhamer in thailand but i have a couple of friends who play warhammer 40k down here in pattaya. We are also tring to find people to play and we have quite alot of models and we get all our models from singapore.

so is there anywhere that sell D&D stuff over here? My mum brought me some of the monster manuals(2, 3.5 4 AND 5) when she last visited and ive got the psionicists handbook as well but i have been looking for more for ages. There isnt any D&D gamebooks at the mall Bangkapi just some novels based on the forgotten realms.
If anyone knows anywhere that sells them I would really appreciate it if you let me know.
THAT WAS A LOVE TAP SUCKER!
Warhammer seems to be much less popular in asia. Probably due to the language barrier. However, it seems to be really popular in japan though. I guess they like their minatures over there.

I'd like to give a shot at some D&D monster bashing if there are any groups who need a player here in BKK? Used to play and host back at home around 2 years ago. Since then Neverwinter nights 2 has been my closest thing to fantasy gaming...
