Re: Air Asia Are Shit - Nok Rock!
I think my chief complaint is not that they cut costs, but the willingness to accept that the lack of comforts are to be expected with low-cost airlines...this whole thread has been highlighting the fact that Nok Air is almost exactly the same price (and sometimes lower), yet they prove that seat allocation is not an exercise in cost savings, rather it's an excuse to reduce the level of service one receives in order to charge extra for the "priviledge" of not being caught in the crush. You can even reserve your seat on Nok air at no extra cost. Their optional exta is Nok Plus which allows you in the business class seats for 500 baht extra, and get's you a Thai airways style snack. That's the right way round....give you the basics and upgrade, rather than Air Asias, take away the basics and offer them back as a bonus.

Re: Air Asia Are Shit - Nok Rock!
^Yes, I hear you, plus I wouldn't fly it if I had a family either. But, I will not join your facebook boycott Air Asia group as i still fly them.

To all of you that may know more about Air Asia. I have booked a ticket online, and I realized that I want to change the dates. I tried changing it online and it is not working. Has anyone ever tried to change a ticket online, or through the phone?
I really would like an extra few days in Thailand.

Air Asia Rant
My frustrations with Air Asia came into full force today. I am trying to change my ticket online, as there is an option to be able to do this. For some reason it is telling me that there is an error, and they can't find my booking. So, I decided to call the Thai office today, because that is where I'll be flying out of. The lady had me repeat my booking number five times, and then once in awhile I'd get a muffled phone, and then she'd come back saying, "I can't hear you." I got the feeling she was doing it on purpose.
Then when she finally found it, she asked for my credit card number, and then she kept saying, "I can't hear you." So, I said I'd call back. When I called back, it sounded like she was on the runway, because there was so much noise in the background. Again, she said, "I can't hear you" so I yelled back to her, "How am I supposed to change my ticket when I can't hear you?," and then I hung up.
Crap service, and crap operators. So, I'm left with trying to call back another time when I feel a bit more calm.. never try to change a booking by phone is my advice to others.
Louis, maybe now I will join your 'boycott Air Asia' group.

We get what we pay for PB.
I try to avoid AA, but when I do have to book with them my expectations are minimal as I'm paying a minimum fare.

Re: Air Asia Rant
Why didn't you go into their office or to a service counter? If it is face-to-face then it's harder for them to brush u off than when it is on the telephone.

Is it too much to ask for a little customer service though? Usually Thailand is great in customer service dept.

You did get a little service...they answered the phone. They answered the phone.
I once spent two hours just trying to get some one on the line. No joke.

PB- AA is not that bad I used them for my last holiday its was on time and no hassle. one crappy thing was they had a strict 15kg luggage limit.

Re: Air Asia Rant
^15kg is so little, especially since I have one year's worth of stuff accumulated here....o'er to mom's house it goes . Yes, sissy, I've flown Air Delaysia with not many squabbles (is that a word) before, and I had not many problems except having to pay for extra luggage. But, this phone thing is annoying. I'll have to try again tomorrow, and hope for the best. Fingers crossed!

Woah, crazy. I swear to God, that she was doing it to piss me off. She get muffling the phone with her hand, then coming back, and saying, 'What I can't hear you,' yet at the beginning of the conversation I asked her, 'Can you hear me clear?" and she said, 'yes.' Go figure! Then she asked me about ten times to repeat the booking number, which was only six letters and numbers. Okay, yes, one more time, D for dog, F for frank. Then she says, 'Oh, I didn't get that, can you repeat that.'
I have seen this mentality in Thailand before..

Re: Air Asia Rant
Air Asia, are a bunch of unproffessional, always delayed, rip-off merchants.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, just because it's budget it is no excuse for shoddiness.
Air Asia take stripped own air travel to an extreme....they even strip off things that have no tangiable cost savings, but serve only to make the customer feel discomfort,
eg the disgracefull lack of seat allocation, and the added charge to skip the pushing and shoving required to get your choice of seats on the plane.
Timekeeping is also not a cost cutting issue. The last 6 flights I've used Air Asia for have been delayed between 1-4 hours. I've I need to be somewhere by a certain time, I would never recommend them....I certainly wouldn't rely on them for transfers.
It's not about the cheap tickets, it's about poor management, making poor business decisions, and poor customer service skills. Avoid them like the plague.
