Ayuttaya: Anyone Living, Working, Breeding There?
It's become more than a big maybe. Ayuttaya could one day be my new home. I'm curious if anyone has lived there, survived the flooding, or otherwise had experience in this one time capital of Thailand. It looks a bit squalid around the river center. Haven't had much time to scout out the outer sections but I am planning to do some research, as well as taking another trip or two there.

Ken May lived there for years. Asper is there now, as is OEG. Only 45 minutes from me as well.

Dang I did not know he moved back. Perhaps I will call him right now.

Yeah... a month ago, maybe? Probably even longer. I can't remember exactly.
Sorry for hijacking your thread, panhunger. If you can track down the aforementioned Ken May, he's probably your best source of information about Ayutthaya.

I was there for two days, Pan. This is what I know: No Burmese allowed. It's a bedroom community for Bangkokians. It's flat. People are fairly friendly. I tried to breed but she wouldn't let me.

pretty much sums it up.
nah, seriously, the place was dirty, ugly, and altogether dreary when i was there 3 years back. perhaps itd be better if the burmese hadnt burned down most of it. saving graces are that its quiet enough and youre 45 min from future park.

Re: Ayuttaya: Anyone Living, Working, Breeding There?
Yep me, Asper, Ken, Roc live here, Olly used to but moved on last year.
Oh we can't forget PT , but don't know if he's still around as he's on a ban from here at the moment and not had contact with him for ages.
I've been here 5 years now, I live about 10k out of the centre in the country which is lovely. There's a fair bit to do here and ao was right Ken's the man to fill you in on all the history of the place.
There's a big Mall with a Lotus and another smaller Big C Mall with bowling.
Lots of teaching jobs and a small international school just out of the city too.
If you're going to come down for a visit you can pm me if you want I can introduce you to a lot of ex-pats working and not working who live here.

Will agree with that too but if you get out of the centre and live in the country it's better.

It's really, really quiet.
If you're married or looking to settle down, give it a go. Otherwise, stay well away.

Re: Ayuttaya: Anyone Living, Working, Breeding There?
Username I'd guess. I wasn't involved in this bit of moderation, since he and I had personal issues (or rather we're directly at each other on the forum) and it's not forum policy for me then to have any hand in it. His ban time will be over soon.
