Re: Opening a bank account in Bangkok

Or both perhaps. I find it useful to have two different accounts; one for savings and one for day-to-day expenses.

In terms of accrued interest, account options and facilities there isn't going to be a lot of difference between the banks so just go for the colour that you like best, I normally like blue but the purple that Siam Commercial uses is really quite eye-catching.

Re: Opening a bank account in Bangkok

We've been with U.O.B. (Union Overseas Bank) since it opened originally as the Bank of Asia. No problems at all in all of that time. Our local branch (Seri Centre Srinakarin road) open 7 days a week, never overly busy and good sevice.

However as was stated in a previous post,''Check the bank your employer is using if yoursalary is paid to your personal a/c''.

Re: Opening a bank account in Bangkok

Threw my atm card away a couple of years ago. Must have saved over 40,000 baht on impulse buying.
