What's the price of gold these days in loS? If you're short of cash, is it a good time to sell your grannies engagement ring?
Note for the dimensionally retarded: 6" = 150 mm

Not significantly better or worse than a few months ago. It's never a good time to sell Grannie's engagement ring![]()

Thai and farang gold is very different bet, I'm sure you're aware of that. The Thai prices relate to the amount of pure gold which is found in the total content of the alloy which is measured by the weight of a 1 Baht coin. it takes a little over 2 Baht of Thai gold to = 1 oz of pure "farang gold". Pure gold is too soft for jewelry which is why Thais make their gold an alloy. I guess it's more of a show off than a storage of wealth kind of thing.
Did I say that right bet?
Ahh, here we go:
Thai baht - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I like Kitco for checking the price and for trend charts:The baht is also a unit of weight for gold, commonly used by jewellers and goldsmiths in Thailand. One baht = 15.244 grams. Since the standard purity of Thai gold is 96.5%, the actual gold content in one baht is 15.244 × 0.965 = 14.71046 grams, or about 0.4729523 troy ounce. 15.244 grams is used for "raw" gold or bullion; in the case of jewellery, 1 baht should be more than 15.16 grams.

Their forums are decent too.

Daniel Bedingfield claimed that his new album is what it would sound like if Sting, Stevie Wonder and Micheal Jackson were in a basement together - I haven't got the album so I'll have to imagine the sound of a blind bloke and a Geordie kicking the shit out of a pedophile.
If I buy a wedding ring, any tips?
Is it based on weight? Set price?
There are gold shops in the local mall, but a bit "lo-so". I have the address of a place in MBK which is hi-so.
??
Gold is at an all-time historic high. Sell it if you've got it...
Not really Science Guy. It briefly breached a thousand a couple of months back.
Doesn't seem to be going far in either direction recently.
