The cheekiest one is charging you to MAKE A DEPOSIT! .. over the counter. I have to pay for the privilege of GIVING them MY money .. so they can lend it out to others and make even MORE money.
In Oz .. making deposits are FREE .. because the banks are not dim witted fools like their Thai cousins. They need your money. They encourage you to give them your money. They don't "discourage" you by charging you a fee.
I can think of a similar situation.
You're walking down the street and some filthy grimy beggar starts tugging at your ankle whining for a few Baht. You feel sorry for him and throw 50 Baht into his cup. You're just about to continue on your way and he pulls you back saying that you must give him another 10 Baht as a transaction fee.
I'd remove the 50 Baht from his cup and tell him to take a flying jump.
Maybe the next time a bank wants to charge me to give them my money .. I’ll ask them how much do they charge for me to withdraw all the existing money in the account and CLOSE it.
What bank is that. I just put in and took out money with no charge.
Too long in Exile, too long not singing my song.
Too long like a rolling stone, Too long in exile
Too long in Exile, baby you just arent my friend.
Too long in Exile my friend, Baby you can never go home again.
? Kasikorn doesn't charge over the counter. IME.
This is it... The apocalypse.
I have a Kasikorn account. They do charge for over the counter deposits. I also have a Krung Thai account .. same.
Don't remember being charged, but I've only made a couple of over the counter deposits.
My last job paid me in cash .. and I don't trust putting cash INTO an ATM. Now I get paid by bank deposit .. but my school lumped the transfer fee onto me .. bastards!
Bastards indeed. Why don't you trust puttng money into an atm?
Siam City bank does not, never has.
The problem is .. every new school I go to wants me to open an account with their bank. Now I have accounts with Kasikorn, Ayuthaya and Krung Thai. Maybe I could turn it into a hobby and see how many accounts I can open?![]()
The accrued fees would bankrupt you.![]()
We could all sit outside on banana lounges discussing the best way to rebuild a 4WD transmission and agree, through shared stories of conquests supporting our assertions, that there is no basis to the proposition that those least assured of their persuasions are the first to condemn others for theirs.
Great fun .. ay?
If you cash a paycheque the KrungThai Bank charge 20 Baht. Haven't had to pay anything else (that I'm aware of.)
Take me down to the paranormal city where the girls are green and they have three titties...
Oh, won't you please take me home?
SCB takes 5 baht from every deposit made into my account. They pay interest though, so they've given me more than they've taken away.
Do you have coke?
