Hello
I am planning on starting a Thai language course at Chula Uni. Its 6 levels and takes 11 months (Classroom study AM / Self study PM). It then follwed by 3 electives:
* TH 7 Selected Topic(s) on Thai Language
* TH 8 Selected Topic(s) on Thai Society
* TH 9 Selected Topic(s) on Thai Culture
Has anyone studies on this intensive Thai course?
Or anything similar?
Thanks
Bloody hell, Im getting smacked about on the other threads from all these regulars and only wanted to chat about studying Thai. Surely some posters have done it!
Please respond if you have
Wow! He's expert in Thai language as well!! Chula? He knows how to drop names too! I want my children to grow up and become just like you!
An expert in Thai language? You mean in the same way your Students are experts in English despite being in your reception beginners class?
And going to Chula (the best course, or so I hear) is 'name dropping' .
Please......dont have kids.
---Update---
My Teachers are all Thais with BAs and Thai language and for levels 3 and above the teachers are all MAs in Linguistics from either America or Australia (unless Chula is lying).
Yes of course, but he wants to study THAI, not English. Why in the world would a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language teach Thai?
Do Spanish teachers teach Chinese?
Maybe he will be taught by some TTFlers, Teaching Thai as a Foreign Language specialists.
Are you ok?
Doesnt it? They not one of them has anything less than 14 years teaching experience teaching Thai to foreigners. And the teacher at levels 3 and 4 taught Thai in Texas to U military personnel for 15 years!!!
Id say it looks quite good but thanks for your concern and the stalking.
Can we get on topic and maybe you describe or talk a little about how you learnt Thai?
---Update---
Why lump it all together, I am sure there is a vast differene between a poor gov school which employs unqualified white men to Chula (please excuse the name drop) , just as there is between some inner city Brit school and Oxford.
As an educator, you must understand that?
Funny, I was going to ask you the same thing.
TEFLer do not teach the Thai laanguage, but they do teach Thai students.
David is planning on studying the Thai language so he will not have any TEFL teachers, understand?
Seems you and JD have gotten so wound up you can no longer think straight
