I've always respected the traditional Wai, and when I use it, I mean it. On recent visits to the Kingdom, It seems like I'm getting Wai'd everywhere I go. At McDonald's, at the supermarket, at Hualampong station when I'm buying a train ticket, and just today, the chick who collects the 2 baht for the toilet at MBK actually Wai'd me! I know this is a tourism thing, but FFS 9 times out of 10, they look really putout by having to Wai.
Anyone else notice this?
