First I've heard of that stipulation... they made yer missus go in order to be given an O visa from the consulate?

I'll apply for a Multi imm O visa at the Thai consultant in the UK and then try and extend it to a 12 month visa when I arrive. Probably best to do the multi visa just in case as the cash requirement looks like it needs to be in the account for 2 months and I will be transfering funds just before I leave the UK. I dont want to transfer the funds now as I have no netbanking in Thailand.

    Thanks everyone.

Me mate went to the Savannakhet visa office today with his Mrs to apply for the 1 year non-o....he says a few other guys were there on their own.....so I guess it's not a stipulation to have yer wife wiv ya.....All the immigration officer asked to see wuz the marriage certificate (original)...took him about 15 mins...He has to go back tomorrow at 2 to pick it up....pretty straight forward...

Everybody: You need to take your original Marriage Certificate if you want to get a marriage visa.
