Sometimes a credit card is pretty handy though.
I found Siam Bank helpful.
But be prepared for a comprehensive credit check.

Ask your dad to get you a supplementary credit card. This way you never have to pay the bill because he will be responsible as a primary card holder.
When you get a bit older do the same with your gf.

I just use my Kasikorn web shopping card itworks like a debit card but tis perfect for getting stuff done online. Really very handy to have and also keeps my spending in check as I just keep a few thousand in that account for books for the kindle, birthday presents back home, membership for sites etc.

I have a Bangkok Bank debit card, but I can't use it for airlines/airfares or hotels on the net.
I do not have a WP, as I work p/t. Any suggestions as to which bank might be sympthetic, and give me a credit card? My wife is Thai, but refuses to work.

I have the SCB debit card but find it useless for online purchases. Fortunately I still have a couple of UK cards I can use online.
