How do we get a credit card in Thailand?

I dont really feel like going into 5 different banks and asking, So I'm just gonna ask here. Does anyone know or have any experience with getting a credit card in Thailand for online purchases? In which case which bank?

I had no luck with Krungsri.

Don't ask for a credit card, tell them you want a check card you can use to but stuff online. You're too young to get a credit card, you gotta be 18 or older. in most countries anyway

Fred gives good advice. Ask for a debit card that you can use online. Kasikorn have a virtual card. Very easy to set up (via ATM) and very easy to use.

Enclavean; I think it would be a big mistake to even consider a "credit card"; go for a debit card. You can use it online, but are limited to the amount of money in your account (can't over spend).
Thai people are learning the hard way about credit cards. Many are now black listed including the brother of a good friend of mine. He's totally screwed his family by going into ฿3,000,000 debt via his credit card.
Got to be really a responsible person financially before going there. Cheers.

Thanks for the info! All I need to do is make a couple of purchases online so yeah, I just need a debit card. (To be honest until today I didnt really know the difference between a credit and a debit card. lol)

    ---Update---

I linked my Krungsri bank account to my PayPal, Its easy to transfer from PayPal to Krungsri but I cant find any option of transferring from Krungsri to PayPal.

You strike me as a very mature young man; so enjoy life and your freedom from serious financial responsibilities for now. The real life is coming soon, so enjoy while you can.
    Cheers.

Two possible options that have worked for several people I know:

    1. Earn more than 50,000 in a job that provides a visa and work permit.

    2. Be married to a woman who has a credit card and you can get a card through her account.

    YMMV

I have never had a credit card. I use a debit card linked to Visa for online purchases.

    Two more.
Aeon will give a credit card with a salary of 30,000 + WP
    KTC the same
I also was told Bangkok Bank will as well.

But as said before, can get you into debt very easily.
When I was young I kicked my sister.
my mum gave me such a smack, then asked "do you want another one"?
"Jeez" mum I said "I have enough trouble with one sister without you having another"

With one credit card? How is that even possible? Blame the stupid bank for issuing the card and not closing the account sooner.

I have a Thai credit card in my name only with a credit limit of 50,000 baht. The requirements were that I needed to have a work permit & at least two years employment with the same school & a monthly salary over 30,000 baht.

The reason I wanted the card was simply to be able to buy plane tickets online.

Another benefit is that when I depart Thailand for good (in the near future) is that I'll withdraw the lot & never f-ing return! It's the least Thailand could do for me.

I don't know if you are joking or not, but just in case you are serious you are a complete and utter moron. What you would do in this case is not a simple default on credit card but intentional fraud which can get you in a lot of trouble.

Send a tweet to Sharky...I'm sure he can hook you up with a nice line of credit, plus he'll be dead soon when his heart explodes from HGH so you won't have to pay him back.
