Last night, it was after midnight, I flipped on the tube and there was Andrew on some kind of two-man news commentary talk show with another guy in a wheelchair talking about Taksin etc. etc. etc. The man is unlike others.

As for any personal proclivities that are being insinuated here...I could care less. It was never my intention to start an Biggs bashing thread. Anyway, he's famous, so that leaves him open to any comments, but would it be cool to make those kinds of comments about, say, the head teacher at the International House, whoever he is? I know it's the forum, but could I request we keep it civil? I mean..because I'm going by my real name here, too. What are the chances of......

I've seen plenty of other people in wheelchairs.

Yep. Most of us harboured the dream of being a minor Thai TV personality rather than an astronaut when we were younger.

I have worked with teachers who have spoken down to me before

. These are people who are clearly compensating for something they missed in life! Mama and Papa did not hug them enough

Teaching does not require a competitive environment. Its not like you are working in a Law firm or Wallstreet. These people need to get a grip or a life!

never heard of him (biggs) no idea who he is and I don't give a fuck. asked my wife, she's never heard of him, asked my friends, they have never heard of him. he must be very famous. not. just another wannabe in a country thats not his, just a nobody like the rest of us. maybe a legend in his own mind. there again I'm a legend in my wife mind,

Erm...he IS actually pretty famous, given that he's on TV every morning, does commecials, and has published tons of books....I can't seem to move in Thai bookshops without seeing his bald grinning face. Ask any of the teachers or students in my school of 3,000....most of them will know him.

Perhaps your wife doesn't watch much TV.

What's with everybody assuming Biggs has a huge ego?

Does anybody have any proof much less evidence of this?

Am I the only one here who has met and talked to the man?

I can neither confirm nor deny it at this point, but it's funny

how it's just assumed, even by someone who claims to

have never heard of him!

So far seems like a normal guy. Make all the jokes you want

(there are plenty) about his character, but what does it mean that

we all make this particular assumption? ...back to the envy theme,

perhaps.....

well, i think the boy done good.

they say that imitation is nothing but flattery, so....

i have the hairstyle sorted but i'm not so sure about cosmetically altering the angle of my ears.

i am a well qualified, native speaking, tefl teacher, who already has 98% of his students in the palm of his hand (you can't win 'em all :sad: )

now if i could just sort out this bloody lingo, i'd be able to compete with that highly successful guy on account of the fact that i am far more relaxed in front of a camera, and furthermore, i have a better face for television.

in fact, it's so blooming simple i'm surprised we are not all at it.
