6 years in the Middle East working for Qatar petroleum making a packet. (non-ESL) plus propert investment back in the UK.

5 years teaching ESL in LOS

On TV? Never been on my wish list

Published books? Ditto

Owns owns school? So what? I've got enough money and assets for a comfortable lifestyle to last forever if I stay here. I don't need or want to own any business. Which leads on to why I'm teaching ESL for 40k a month. I enjoy it. To be frank (and at the risk of seeming extremely arrogant) this supposed 40k a month is the chump change I use for my entertainment.

This is Ajarn forum mate. Sniping at other people is a way of life here.

He did the best commentary on the royal boat procession, going into the history of it, explaining the sybolism of each barge, whats used to make one, etc.

The Thai who did the English commetary after him said fuck all, just repeating the royal titles of each guest, and stating the obvious of what was happening on screen.

Gets a thumbs up from me for actually researching what he was gonna talk about and doing it 10 times better than the Thai English commentator who (suprise, suprise) made it up on the spot.

Nice one cue ball.

Has this Biggs guy ever taught up north before he became famous?

I think I saw his picture at my previous school. In the picture, he seemed to be at some English camp?..........He could have been a guest?

fair comment, except I nor anyone I have spoken to has ever heard of him. What time is he on tv? maybe I'll have look, Just as a small point we have over 4500 students in our school and I can't find any one who has heard of him. however with a pic maybe they have seen him but can't remember his name

I just saw his new ad. He's now selling toothpaste in Thai.

I missed the plot, but some folks are camping on the beach,

and there's this cute thai/farang couple who...I don't know..

can't communicate and he convinces them this is good toothpaste

and in the end they say simultaneuosly "what's your name".

It's a slick ad by thai standards can't wait to see it again.

I'm now posting 'from the belly of the beast'...had a decent class today. But it was moved from next door to Biggsy...could it be the thread's been read and measures have been taken? And next week my classes will be moved to the basement (like the guy in "office space"), and then I'll just disappear forever?

Gotta go, I'm getting paranoid!!! He's gonna walk in and I'm done!
