Look out for next Tuesday's Bangkok Post
It took them a long time to get round to us, but there will be a full-page warts and all feature on ajarn.com as part of next week's Learning Post (out on February 22nd)
I spent an hour with Matt and Terry at their Bangkok Post office last Monday and we thrashed out some ideas for the story. The guys didn't want it to be the usual 'ajarn.com is great and everything in the garden is rosy' kind of article so they've promised to come at things from some very different angles.
To be honest, I'm quite scared of what I might read. I haven't read the article but it will focus very heavily on this forum for one.
make sure you reserve your copy for the staffroom!

I say we put them in the same kennel and lock the door.
Good news Phil, and yes i would be scared as well. Coming from a newspaper background when a journo says 'we are going to come at this story from a few different angles' then anything can happen.
But just remember the golden rule in the media. Any publicity is good publicity. I can't wait to see it.
Will it have your ugly mug featured?

Yes. Several photos I think, and in color.
I didn't haul a suitcase of clobber down there for nothing. I just hope the one in the pink chiffon number comes out OK.
I also think Ian's and Louis's mugs will be there somewhere.

Wot sodding photo...? Damn this is what happens when you put your mug on the net...I guess you warned me Phil....
I also got plied with questions, and I regaled him with about 1000 words about last years forum saga...I took the view that he had plenty of material to chop, so better too much othan too little.

Sorry to inform you LDMA but it isn't THAT photo they are using. It's the one from the
drink-a-thon you had with a few board members last time you were in the big smoke.
The photo.......you don't remember being taken.

Congrats to Phil, admins, mods, and posters.
Should (might) bring more traffic here.
I'll be on my best behavior.
I hope someone puts the article on here for people without access to the Post to read about it.
I do have access, but a couple of days late.

I can't get my head around the Learning Post doing a front pager on the forum!!!!!!
As an important sector in Thailand's TEFL scene I feel the publicity is warranted for the website and congratulations due to you adminnies.
I can hear those phones ringing now with new advertising contracts.

Yes. Ajarn was featured in an obscure section of the Bangkok Post website about 3 years ago and was read by 12 people.
