The curriculum is whatever curr. the school has. I don't know how many possible different curr's there are in Nont. schools but I know of 2. My 3rd day at my school another school visited us because they won a new curr. which we already had so they wanted tips on how best to implement it.
I don't know what goals have been set by the Ministry but I know that there are 3 teams assessing us. 1 from Ramk. 1 from Ola at the Nont. govt's behest & one from the Ministry. Ramk & Ola seem to be most concerned about the teachers welfare, the Ministry seems most concerned about our lesson plans & attendance.

Thanks for that mate. That's pretty much what I expected, and it means that as a "project" the whole thing is nipped in the bud. A complete schemozzle.

 Agreed.
Without adopting a unified curriculum the project is a glorified staff recruiting exercise. I am beginning to think that the whole project is about the infrastructure inside the Ministries of Education, Labour and Foreign Affairs. Fine tuning the employment practices for government schools.
Maybe they are aiming to centralize recruitment for foreign teachers in the government programs?
If the project does become wider spread it will drive the wages up as the private sector will have to compete with the government schools for the choice candidates.

Regarding my previous post I wish to make it clear that I was trying to elicit further details from AM or anyone else regarding this project. I did not intend to imply that anyone at Ajarn was attempting to conceal information in what has been the biggest news in the EFL market for some time. Most of the points raised in the missing thread have been restated in this and the companion thread anyway. The only thing missing is AM's rant at the end.
Aside from all this my school has started its recruitment drive for next year and I am dealing with the email contacts. We received this unsolicited email from our ad on Ajarn.

True Faith
I feel so extraordinary
Something’s got a hold on me
I get this feeling I’m in motion
A sudden sense of liberty
I don’t care ’cause I’m not there
And I don’t care if I’m here tomorrow
Again and again I’ve taken too much
Of the things that cost you too much
I used to think that the day would never come
I’d see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun...
When I was a very small boy,
Very small boys talked to me
Now that we’ve grown up together
They’re afraid of what they see
That’s the price that we all pay
Our valued destiny comes to nothing
I can’t tell you where we’re going
I guess there was just no way of knowing
I used to think that the day would never come
I’d see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun...
I feel so extraordinary
Something’s got a hold on me
I get this feeling I’m in motion
A sudden sense of liberty
The chances are we’ve gone too far
You took my time and you took my money
Now I fear you’ve left me standing
In a world that’s so demanding
I used to think that the day would never come
I’d see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun...

Imagine
It was the 25th anniversary of the death of John Lennon last week. Imagine.
Imagine you've got b*llocks.
Sure, I agree with you. He did come across as being a gimp, with that wizened chimp on his arm, displaying their pubes to all and sundry. But his heart was in the right place, and that's what counts.

Most of Ramk. seems to dislike them as well, but they have lived up to everything they said they would & helped in the negotiations for a better deal. The fee they charged us for getting us the position was surprisingly low & well worth it. However I am wary of them.

I would presume that they are just following the Thai English cirriculum which means that they repeat the same thing every year - Hello my name is.
If the Science cirriculum is anything to go by its fucking shocking.

Dreams & Teams
Sorry I didn't bother to get back to you all, making false promises and that, but you know what these good intentions are like - they never last! Hope I didn't go and give any of you any false hope (or self-belief).
I have in fact been beavering away behind the scenes (no pun intended) and should have some news for you soon regarding the curriculum. I've also got one or two other things up my sleeve (though not sure if they will come to fruit-i-tion or not).
Take it easy. Don't serious.
