Sadly Jellybean, the then Thai goverment sold their country for a mess of potage as they were under the delusion the Japanese were going to give them (the Thai's) great swathes of this area, Malaysia, and the old French Indo China as a reward.

Incidentally the biggest collabarators in Thailand during the war were "the French and to a lesser degree the Dutch".

However as the tide turned for the Japanese so did the Japanese turn on the French and the Dutch.

Pridi saved this Kingdom from swinging penalties as he and others did not deliver Thailands Declaration of War to the Allies and the U.S.A.goverments.

I speak from personal knowledge of the facts from the children of the people involved in the Seri Thai movement,the equivalent of "The French Resistance".

Xenophic perhaps I am,however since when did the truth start to be xenophobic vis a vis another nations actions and the outcome of their forays into foreign parts?
