For once i agree with tomcat!!
Seems like the activist wanted this to happen.
I agree that we don't always have to do what we are told, however the reason we are told to stand is that it is to show respect to HM The King.
So it follows that if you choose not to stand you are putting accross the idea that you do not show respect...hence the reation from the public.
Not too dificult to work out...
I would not stand for someone i didn't respect but that is not the case in this country.
I have the greatest respect for HM the King..
So... I Stand Up!

I quite agree , but can fully understand the counter-arguement.
That said, living in a society as weird (and in some ways FUBAR) as the Land of Stares, it's best to jetison all values except those you really can't bear to live without. Less of a headfuck that way!
