Looking for Thai Language Tutor in BKK

Well - after about six or seven years in Thailand I guess it's about time I get started. Actually I learned quite a bit in my first two years here, but it all but stopped once my girlfriend (now wife) learned conversational English.

So I'm now looking for a good Thai Language teacher. I live in the Sathorn area, so a location close to there would be good. I work at a school so the lessons would have to be in the evening. I would like to focus on reading, writing, and speaking. I figure listening will just fall into place as the other skills are developed. I'd like to pay no more than 300 bt per hour, possibly a bit more if the teacher is really top-shelf. I'm interested in having one 2-hour lesson per week, but that could increase later if my schedule allows it. Finally, I am hesitant about going to a language school. I'm in class all day and don't really want to be in that environment in the evening. Also I think I will progress more quickly if I can learn at my own pace.

If anyone can offer a personal recommendation please feel free to PM me or post in this thread. Thanks in advance!

Re: Looking for Thai Language Tutor in BKK

A teacher is a good idea, but mainly for the reading and writing. Most people I know who can speak Thai well learned by being around Thais and being forced to speak. BTW depending on where you work, you could have one of your Thai teachers teach you. That's what I do at my school, it works out well for me.
Good luck

That is so sweet. Thanks. FRT where are you? Here is the lesson in ED and ING adjectives. Pimpakarn he would be interested. If you use interesting its like a pick up line for a dating website. As interesting here has a double meaning.

Something or someone is interesting. So you are interested.

I like teachers to be interesting. If they are not I will not be interested.\

Interesting classes make me even more interested in what I am studying.

Applies to so many adjectives. Just a few exciting, shocking, embarrassing, boring, tiring, exhausting, so many more.

Good luck.
