Hey I want to take Thai language classes but I can't seem to find any near me. I am living in Saimai and don't want to travel to BKK for Thai classes, so I am wondering if anyone knows any near Saimai or in Rangsit. I prefer traveling to Rangsit over BKK as it is closer to me.
I have already asked around my school for classes, tutors or a language exchange and haven't had any luck.
Thanks in advance.

I know a school in Ayutthaya where they might be able to help you.

Is Ayuthaya further away from Saimai than Bangkok? If so, I may as well go to BKK for Thai classes.

Only about 60kms further than BKK
Note for the dimensionally retarded: 6" = 150 mm

Really? For some reason the map makes it seem farther... the scale of my map must be a little off.
When I go to Future Park Rangsit from Saimai it takes about 30 minutes, so it is similar in distance? I can live with a 1 hour total commute.
What is the info on the classes there? I am interested.

It all really depends on traffic.
I know a Thai teacher whose English is excellent, who has taught foreigners Thai in the past. I'll have to check with one of the people who work there, and get back to you.
It's not that as close as Bird makes out, you'd be much better going to a nearby university, I'm sure they all have Thai classes. Kaset?
It's not 30 minutes by car from sai mai, that's fer sure. It can take 30 minutes to get on the ring road.
Hilarious, returd.Originally Posted by bird71

I thought Ayutthaya was further away than if I were to go to BKK. Kaset Uni? I don't know much about it... I will have to do a google search.

Many good language schools in Rangsit. Most have Thai classes but probably a bit pricey. What grades do they teach at your school, if they are lower grades ask if you can sit in on the classes. I used to do that and it was both helpful and fun. The young students would come over and look at what I had written and then go back to their desks to write it neater in their own notebook.
My school is a billingual program for Thai's to learn English. As a homeroom teacher, I spend most of my time, including my free time, in my homeroom class. So sitting in on Thai language classes wouldn't be feasabile or effective as far as learning Thai.
Plus at the lower levels they spend more time on teaching Maths and other core subjects in Thai and less on the actual Thai language. They get Thai grammar twice a week and that is the only Thai class devoted to the subject of Thai language.
What classes are available in the Rangsit area? I am willing to deal with a commute there.
