Has anybody heard about or have any experience of
Intensive Thai Language Program Srinakharinwirot University
the Uni is at the far (dead) end of soi 23.
it runs three 60 hour courses, each course runs in the evening, 2 hours 6 - 8 pm, 5 days a week for 6 weeks.
9,600 baht.
Apparently it covers, reading and writing, not just speaking.
I'm going to check it out this week, sit in on a class and see what the books are like. But any extra info or testimonials would be most helpful.
cheers

Here's is the info. You won't get much since it's a Thai site and like most Thai they are only functioning at half impulse.

It is Suk soi 23 on the canal... It is recognized as one of the better universities for education. Considering that I know some of the M.Ed students there, I can't see it being anything special. After all it is Thai education.
Do you know what department it is? I will ask my teachers to get the details.

apologies for not stating Suk 23 in Bangkok.
its part of the humanities department.
they run the above quoted 100 hour course during the day, i'm interested in the 60 hour evening class.
i intended to go along today but couldn't manage it. hopefully tomorrow.
Intensive Thai Language Program - Faculty of Humanities*, Srinakharinwirot University
I went to check out the regular daytime course last week. I sat in on a class for a couple of hours.
It was the last class of the unit so I got a good idea of where they were at.
I have to say I was impressed. Only three in the class, one Austrian guy who had I think a fair bit of Thai before starting. Two Japanese, both completely new to Thai and Thailand.
The guy was more confident and maybe applied himself more than the lady but both seemed to talk pretty well and also read.
It seems they have different teachers for speaking, grammar, reading and writing which they students said was good.
I checke din on the daytime course which is longer, I think 200 hours compared to 60 for the evening one, but I got a good feel about the place so I signed up for the next evening class which start on 17th Jan.
I'll keep you posted as to how it goes.
PM if you want more info.
It's not really 'dead', it's quite lively here at the north end of Asoke.
I think I know what you mean, though.![]()
Chula supposedly is the best but they don't have an evening course unfortunately.
did you end up taking the course?. . any feedback?. .
