Finnish Man Crashes and Kills Motorcycle Driver
FINN MAN CRASHES AND KILLS SIDECAR MOTORBIKE RIDER, WIFE SURVIVES
Finn man was speeding a pickup truck to Suttahip had crashed into a sidecar-motorbike. The motorbike rider had been killed and his wife survived.
On September 13th, 2008, at 09.00, Second Lieutenant police officer Pitichon Therdkietkorakul, Sattahip, was notified by Sawang Rojanathamasathien rescue that a Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by a foreigner, had heavily crashed into a Kawasaki sidecar-motorbike. One man was dead and one woman was injured. The rescue team had taken the injury to Somdet Pranangjao Sirikit, Navy hospital.
The incident occurred on Sukhumvit road, state highway No. 3, at 165th kilometer marking pole, Pattaya-Sattahip, opposite Baan Bangsaray School.
Police discovered Mr. Pichai Boonkongton (34), the motorbike rider, was seriously crashed and bleeding heavily on his head, had been dead on the spot. Mrs. Jaruwat Sansern (34), his wife, was already sent to Somdet Pranangjao Sirikit, Navy hospital.
The police investigated the truck driver, Mr. Pike Sami Petteri, (35), from Finland, who explained that hehad driven a pickup truck from Pattaya to Sattahip. After the traffic light before the crossing bridge in front of Baan Bangsaray School, he was speeding up without noticing that a sidecar-motorbike was just coming out off a store. He had completely crashed into the back of motorbike, and lost control to hit an electric pole on the roadside. Mr. Petteri was safe but had killed the motorbike rider and injured the wife. Police charged Mr.Petteri was charged with careless driving.

Knowing what its like here I dare bet that the bike just pulled out in front of him without looking. Notice that the dead body seems to be missing something that could of saved his life.......a fucking HELMET!

It would seem very reasonable that the Thai was at fault. In fact I would bet money on that fact.
Also, the Finn must have been going at some good speed if he did that much damage...... And he obviously wasn't looking too hard or driving very good if he crashed into the bike.
Don't get me wrong though...... I don't have any sympathy for the Thai either as there was obviously no helmet on either person

sad this is. speeding or not, most likely the finn was driving as per any thai would....motorbikes are a fucking major hazard here when drivng a car.
if he hit the bike from behind, its 100% the bikes responsibility to see whos coming!!!!!
....but 100% the law that hitting from behind is not the victims fault. always the hitter's fault not the hitee
why isnt there a comprehensive driver/ motorbike course here? IE--- LOOK!!!! BOTH WAYS! (maybe they can do a multiple choice test on how to look, and then let everyone cheat) ---ok im not jaded or anything.
