Young British national Adam William Menagh has tragically died in a head-on motorbike accident whilst his passenger an unknown Danish national has been taken to hospital in a critical condition. The rider of the other motorbike, a Thai national, has also died in the accident.
Phuket, the 23rd of February 2010 [PDN]: Young British National due to fight later in the week at one of the boxing stadiums in Patong died instantly when his motorbike collided with another ridden by a Thai man at approximately 5.30 am on 22nd February 2010. A Danish man riding pillion with the Brit was seriously injured and taken to Phuket International Hospital by a passerby. He remains in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
On arrival at the scene, Police found the bodies of Adam William Menagh [22] and Chainarong Wathana [24] on Chao Fa East Road, opposite Soi Thanoothep in Chalong at 5.30 am. They had both suffered severe head trauma and had died instantly.
Police assume Mr. Menagh’s motorbike may have veered across the lanes on his way into Phuket Town causing him to collide with Mr. Chainarong as he came from Phang Nga province, heading towards Chalong.
Neither of the two victims were wearing helmets. Police will continue with their investigations in an attempt uncover the reasons behind the fatal accident.

Why is it assumed that it was the foreigner who veered into the opposing lane? Both not wearing helmets...sorry...no sympathy...
Motor cycles are not the safest mode of transport in the west even though there is a greater sense of awareness amongst the greater majority of road users.
Here one might as well enrol in a Kama Kazi pilots course or enlist as a suicide bomber, ones life span would probably be longer than that of the average motor cycle rider.
Sympathy to the families of the deceased.

Maybe because they found his bike on the other side of the road.![]()
Silly bugger.
This is it... The apocalypse.
No sight quite as jarring to the senses as a lifeless broken body on the bitumen on a bright sunny day in the tropics.
Always a tragedy when they're so young. RIP.

Driving at 5 am without a helmet. Presumably he wasn't confused about his lane because he'd just got out of bed.
Is it not reasonable to assume that even CSI Phuket can work out who was in the wrong lane, on the basis of where all the wreckage is and where the impact took place?
As gadget pointed out...
Anyway, where's all the hilarity that greeted the dead Russian a couple of months back?
