Aside from the glaze...are krispy kremes any better than the hot doughnuts you get at UK funfair trailers...those are awesome.

I didn't wait in the damn line here but they have KK in South Korea. Tastes the same as the US. However, the local hometown bakery shop in the US soundly beats the pants off any chain store attempts.
I wish they had Hostess cakes and pies here. A nice twinkie every now and then is nice.

Indeed. I lived down the road from the Taylor woodland in NC and grew up in Massachusetts, the other Taylor neighborhood. I'm a double Taylor-homer, plus, his brother Livingston came to our morning assemblies more than a couple times in high school in Weston, Ma.! My other Taylor tidbit: my high school punky band played a high speed punk version of 'you can close your eyes'
Anyway, being a Boston area guy I was reared on Dunkin' Donuts but by the time DD was a multi-national conglomerate I was done.
We used to head to DD at around 2-3am when they would fill up entire garbage bags with unsold donuts. They'd hand 'em right over. We fed the entire homeless population in and around Porter Sq. before taking the remaining 125 or so donuts home to snack on for the next 24 hours.![]()
