I heard the average wait in line was 3 hours.
When I see very large Thai people now I just say 'Krispy Kreme'.
Free sugary fried dough - Crowds line up in Bangkok

great doughnuts they are. Would never stand in line to buy one though.
Too long in Exile, too long not singing my song.

Too long in Exile, baby you just arent my friend.
Too long in Exile my friend, Baby you can never go home again.
I saw their full page advert in that 'Guru' magazine that comes with the BKK Post (you know, the one with all the potty mouth writers) and wondered - what's so special about those things then? And I'm still wondering. Are they radically different to Dunkin' Donuts?
And so Thailand comes waddling into the developed world.![]()

GOML - check out the links. There's a doughnut burger. Like a bacon butty really. But in a bagel. But the bagel's a doughnut, not a bagel.
Hang on, I'll fetch it.
Check it:
I get the gist from the site that this is a US variation (aberration!)
The question is - would you do it?
I might.
Depends.
My arteries are hardening just looking at the picture. These are my favourite offers at the moment:
Central Plaza special offers - 10% off Beard Papa's and Daddy Dough, 15% off Dream Cones!? Suki 60's is buy 1 get 1 free... Mmm, dream cones!![]()
I can only really do all this kind of stuff after:![]()
My Thai friends have been talking about the arrival of Krispy Kreme for weeks. I have no idea why; none of them have ever eaten their doughnuts before. They must have had one hell of an advertizing campaign.
Do you have coke?
Taking a young lady there on a date would probably go down well at the moment!
Its like a Thai steak, versus a marbled Angus steak when it comes to comparing Krispy Kreme to Mr. Doughnut, or Dunkin. They are damned expensive though.
Cheap trash donuts are all the same. Gimme the offerings of a nice mom and pop German bakery anyday.

I got addicted to KK in Greensboro, North Carolina. One of the big shops with the donut factory in full view. Ironically enough, it was right on my route home from the organic food co-op I was a member of and did all my shopping at.
If you're gonna eat sugary shit, an original glazed KK donut fresh off the line is pretty damn good.
Somehow don't think it'd be the same here though.
