Classic 1976 Honda 70 (Chiang Mai)

Off back to England (hopefully) soon, so the missus is having to reluctantly sell her classic beauty.

1976 Honda 70cc
Dark red and white in colour
Lots of chrome
Good condition for its age and everything works (apart from the speedo I think?)
Very cheap to run
No tax needed
Thai flag on the back
Looks great and certainly turned heads when I used to ride it into school!

She has owned it for about 2 years and its had a fair amount of work done on it to keep it in good condition. She uses it almost everyday but having only 3 speeds, its really only suitable for short journeys. Cost her 14,000B so would be looking for a similar price to let it go.

For more information, pictures or to arrange a viewing please PM me.

Its a classic bike thats had a fair amount of work on it.

We would take slightly less but aren't going to sell it for peanuts as its only going to go up in price if its looked after. Its probably done less than 1,000Km since we have owned it.

Maybe I will post a few pictures this weekend to indicate its condition.

70cc bikes don't need to be taxed.

Did you add the flag after you originally purchased it?

Re: Classic 1976 Honda 70 (Chiang Mai)

14k seems a bit steep for that bike. ive seen those bikes around here in plok and would ahve never considered they'd be priced as "vintage".

you could pay another 10k baht and get a bike that is almost 32 years older.

32 years mate. hell im 32 and i have a lot of baggage!

Re: Classic 1976 Honda 70 (Chiang Mai)

It is a classic. The most reliable bike ever built. I watched a BBC special about how it is indestructable. They drove it 3,000 K on old cooking oil. Ran it into a wall at 15 K per hour after jumping off and it was fine. Loaded 600 pounds on it and drove it for days. Then they drove it off a third floor roof. The thing fired right up and tried to go but the front rim was too badly bent. Should be worth with 10% or so of the asking price I would think.

Re: Classic 1976 Honda 70 (Chiang Mai)

which is what i thought.

7k is what id offer (but i aint in the market). sorry bill!! you could get a much newer (by 20+ years) bike for the same money. and if you want a vintage look, the vespa is the way to go.
