I'm going to be tutoring a beginner level student in March to help prepare her for a school trip to Singapore in April. I'm going to be doing this free and gratis and want to spend as little time on preparation as I can.
I'm getting nowhere with Google and already have books like Let's Talk [all of which I find crap because they were designed for people that have moved to an English speaking country, especially the States].

Hey Scorps ever tried englishtips.org ? I have gotten a few good conversation books from there that I use in my classes here in deepest Isaan. One is All Talk the other in A Conversation Book 2. I would really like to have book 1 but beggars can't be choosers.
Now if you want to throw them into the deep side of the conversation pool break out the old Dungeons and Dragons books and get them role playing there favorite movie or book character.
