Re: Memorable gigs/festivals

I think that's an insult to gay people....I was only like 13 or so....Pasadenas supported them.

Saw Johnny Cash as Glasto and Dylan....both were good.

I saw the Weddoes a couple of times....superb! High energy set....but only an hour!!! Loved 'wrecking' to them, used to go home and show my Mum the bruises ('cos I'm hard...she just thought I was a dick).

Saw the Roses twice, first one was good, second one was Reading Festival with go go dancers....sad!

Charlatans were really good when I saw them though.

Spiritualized I've seen a couple of times at Glasto and they were always good.

Re: Memorable gigs/festivals

Saw queen way back when. Just after the day at the races album. Damn good.

AC/DC at the taren point youth club in sydney for 2$. They were just starting out but they were awesome.

Saw Fleetwood Mac in Brissie and also Bob Marley. Now there was a concert. The folks lined the route of his bus after the concert and clapped him through. He was sitting up the back of the bus and guess what he had in his hand..... yeap you got it.

Saw Santana in Bkk twice. Bloody good show that.

Saw the Bee Gees in Brissie too, now I think. This was pre Saturday Night live. They did have some awesome songs didn't they.

Missed out on Pink Floyd at Earls Court back in 1980. Me mate paid 4 times the price with a scalper and had a blast. Took him a week to come down.

If I remember correctly, it cost me a quid to see them(along with Stone the Crows and Bronco) at the Empire Pool in 1971.

I saw Stone the Crows at King's Lynn Tech. My first ever gig was Hawkwind, King's Lynn Corn Exchange

Stones, Knebworth, 70s, forget which year

Floyd, Dark Side tour, Knebworth also

Dylan 3 times

Re: Memorable gigs/festivals

their second album on the turn is great. still listen to it a lot.

they split up and cormac formed a new band called wilt that didn't really rock my boat. i think they reformed for some glory gigs in ireland last year but haven't released any new material.

Re: Memorable gigs/festivals

Saw the Roses a few times (pre and post Second Coming), but the best was the "homecoming" at Manchester Apollo after Second Coming was released. As the spiralling intro of "adored" floated across the venue Ian Brown looked at the audience and said, "Alright lads, did you miss us?" Understating bastard.

KK, I think I would have cried if I was at that Reading gig.

Morcheeba were always good live before the third album, which was shite.
Black Grape were excellent live, much better than the Mondays were (live).
Saw the Wailers about six years ago in UK (without Bob obviously), 300 people all lighting up at that line in Easy Skanking was hilarious.

Re: Memorable gigs/festivals

^ Yeah it was sad to be honest....saw them at Rivermead as well, that was okay!

Agree Black Grape are good live, as were the Fun Loving Criminals....put on a good show and got the crowd going.

Primal Scream do good ones as well IMO!!!

The BKK 100 festival was memorable, if only to get the chance to see Ian Brown again. Came on wearing a bright pink tracksuit! Quality bloke.

Re: Memorable gigs/festivals

think i saw entombed support neurosis in the music centre, dublin a few years back. great band but the crowd were all neurosis freaks and saved themselves..

saw godflesh there too around the same time. wasn't a big crowd there for some reason and it just didn't ever really kick off but still great to see them live.

one of the best gigs was fugazi live with a local band the redneck mainfesto supporting. rednecks were fuckin' great but fugazi were absolutely incredible. far better live for once..amazing musicians.
