Re: Memorable gigs/festivals

First gig ever was Metallica with Danzig on support in the Top Hat, Dun Laoghaire, October the 4th, I think, 1988, at a very impressionable age. I remember how completely chaotic and feral the whole thing felt. The excitement was something I'd never experienced before.

One thing I clearly remember was people chanting "Cliff, Cliff..." during Jason Newstead's bass solo and spitting at him unforunately! They played Whiplash, Master of puppets, And justice for all, Battery, Am I evil?, and the rest. Amaaazing!

Danzig didn't impress me much at the time. Probably because I didn't know their material at all. I remember watching the drummer playing a lot (Chuck Biscuits as I now know).

Re: Memorable gigs/festivals

To my eternal gratitude, my mate once dragged me to a gig of a band i'd never heard of at the time, at the Joiners Arms in Southampton.

Their name was Radiohead.
