I can see why people, especially Yanks, would like it. Same reason people like The Eagles. Nostalgic, dewey-eyed, emotive, sentimental, building to the stadium pleasing chorus.

That video would have been a perfect opportunity to pour boiling oil down on the crowds of fans and push the band over the side of building. Shame really.
Anyway as far as the music goes, I really don't see what the difference between that song and this YouTube - lay your hands on me is.
