What are you listening to right now?

i hope at least blackjack will be happy this thread is back. and a shout out to 'soulseek.com' for making it happen.

belle and sebastian - 'if you're feeling sinister'. beautiful, funny, folk pop, idyllic.

ugly casanova - 'ugly casanova'. sad, depressing, psychotic, lo-fi country but so well-crafted. needs heavy liquor and/or drugs to be appreciated fully.

    and modest mouse.

and brian eno - 'another green world'. damn you gotta love soulseek!

Do none or you have itunes? a random playlist?

I could try to impress you by saying that I'm listening to 'The Smiths', but I don't even know who they are, my best guess would be that they lived next to the Jones.

Right now there's a Tom Jones track playing... wait a mo....

The next track is Shirley Bassey on that remix album.

    Hmmmm...

I think my itunes has a Welsh bias...

    Let's hit the skip button...

Oh, the next one's John Lennon, let's skip again...

Oh shit, it's a rap remake using a classical backing track and a drum machine. I'm so ashamed, how can I live this down? Phil will be so disapointed.

Uh, background chatter and the clicking of fingers on the keyboard. I'm sitting in an internet cafe.
By the way, I went to the rugby league match this past Saturday and for the halftime show they had some obese Polynesian guy wearing I think some American basketball team's kit and bellowing out rap lyrics along the lines of "Mutha f*cka this and muthaf*cka that, hoe, hoe, crack yo arse..." and other such rubbish at about 300 decibels. That's entertainment?

I've been listening to absolutely nothing at home for the past few weeks. I seem to be either listening to music obsessively or not at all these days, same with reading novels. Last thing I was listening to though was Smokey Robinson And The Miracles.

and brian eno - 'another green world'
That's a wonderful record, used to be one of my favourites. I'd like to hear a bit of Eno again. Here Come The Warm Jets is good too, the title track is still one of the all time greats.

What, even more than the Academy Fantasia song, ken?

And Johnny Cash Hurt song is well nice!
Yeah, that's great. Did Trent Reznor write that? Johnny Cash, even at death's door, was a great interpreter of other people's songs. IMO His versions were often better than the originals.
