Anyone like pretty Guitars, pic for KMS also
I am psyched. Picked this one up today and have enjoyed playing it this afternoon.
The sunburst in unbelieveable in person. It changes design like tigers strips and etc. that follow you in the wood grain when you look at it from different angles. Hard to get it to photograph right.
And, alas, one for the doubter in the group.

I did catch some little knee to waist high wind swell today before my music store adventure. I am bringing this guitar to BKK and would really like to hook up with a band over there and at east try to play some. Would be fun since I cannot partake in most of my hobbies in BKK area.

Re: Anyone like pretty Guitars, pic for KMS also
I have the exact same guitar and color, except it`s an Epiphone .
Although I remember reading an article that the old epiphone Les Pauls (of which I am a proud owner) are pretty much identical to the Gibson ones.
I love Gibson`s and if I had loads of disposable income, I`d get a hollow body and an SG. Unfortunately I`m still saving for a Warwick Bass. Thanks for reminding me how poor I am.

Re: Anyone like pretty Guitars, pic for KMS also
Dude, that guitar is worth as much as a home in this country. Be very careful.
Nah, I absolutely hate guitars like yours. It's like an aging-conscious middle-aged man who buys a flame red sports car. Can you play guitar? That is the question. If you can't, will that guitar make you any better?
Could the world's best guitar players play a Chinese copy of your guitar and make it sound well? Yes, they could. The world's best guitar solo (Stairway to Heaven) was played through a Fender Princeton 12-watt amp worth about $75 in its time. It's all in the fingers. And that's something money can't buy.
Beautiful guitar!

I understand what you are saying. I started playing at 5. I just traded a black Les Paul for this one. I took the black one in to get a puck-up mount replaced and saw this one hanging on the wall. I loved the finish.

Re: Anyone like pretty Guitars, pic for KMS also
I have one of these stored in my cupboard.
Haven't played it in over 15 years.
Never was much of a player.
Bought it for $300AUS.
Seen them sell for over $1000.
Gibson S-1 1971

Heavy beast, drags on the shoulder. I used to use an old army webbing belt for a strap on it.
Whoever owned it before me lowered the action and shaved the frets for lead work. I've been meaning to get it professionally refretted and refurbished for a long time now.
Nice Les.
