Muddy Waters

Any big fans here??

I've been diggin' on him lately...here's a little wiki info:

McKinley Morganfield (born April 4, 1913, Issaquena County, Mississippi; died April 30, 1983, Westmont, Illinois), better known as Muddy Waters, was an American blues musician and is generally considered "the Father of Chicago blues". He is also the actual father of blues musicians Big Bill Morganfield and Larry 'Muddy Junior' Williams.
Considered one of the greatest bluesmen of all time, Muddy Waters was a huge inspiration for the British beat explosion in the 1960s[1] and considered by many to be one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century.[2]
In 2004 Waters was ranked #17 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[3]

Re: Muddy Waters

I remember when he went electric. The first album was called: Electric Mud. Paul "all right now" Rodgers had an album tribute to Muddy after his death. It featured, Neal Schon, Slash, Jeff Beck, Trevor Rabin, Buddy Guy, Brian May, Richie Sambora, Steve Miller, David Gilmour, Gary Moore, Ian Hatton, Jimi Haun.

Re: Muddy Waters

Muddy was great! Great raw Chicago blues at it's best! I have several live DVDs of Muddy...one is anamazing show from 1974 Montreux Jazz Festival with Buddy Guy and Jr Wells. My brother got to see Muddy live once, opening for Bonnie Raitt. I got to see a Muddy Waters tribute band live with all original members of Muddy's band with guys such as Pinetop Perkins, Bob Margolin, etc. Great show! Muddy was the father of the blues and as he so appropiriately put it..."The blues had a baby and they named it Rock & Roll"!
PS-Jimbo...I like your avatar "m-kay"!
