    The Album of your life.

Not your favourite album or your favourite collection of songs, but the songs you loved from early childhood until now. These are the songs I loved chronologically in the order I liked them...not necessarily the date they came out.

Just made a CD for myself with my songs (you can tell it's the holidays). I don't remember song 1, but according to my grandma who passed on years ago (my mum vouched for her opinion)...I loved it when I was a toddler.

    1. Summer. John Denver ( I was 3 FFS)
    2. Antmusic. Adam and the ants
    3. Baggy Trousers. Madness
    4. Message in a bottle. The Police
    5. White Lines. Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
    6. Al Naayfish (The Soul). Hashim....(this was my breakdancing period lol)
    7. Jam On it. Newcleus
    8. One for the treble. Davy DMX
    9. Losing my religion. REM
    10. Even better than the real thing. U2
    11. Come as you are. Nirvana
    12. Break on through. The Doors
    13. Here comes the sun. The Beatles
    14. Live Forever. Oasis
    15. Bitter sweet symphony. The Verve
    16. Karma Police. Radiohead
    17. In My place. Coldplay.

So...picking one tune or so per year...what would be your album? I am ashamed of some of those songs..particularly Coldplay.

    What is yours?

    My Coldplay story:

I was in Sligo - the city - when I heard Parachutes. It was the last of the record shops. Kid behind the counter was a music fan. Sold it me. Drove around Ireland to Coldplay. After a bit I got pissed off with it. Too miserable, I said. I like it, she said. Fuck you, says I. We fought.

A year or so later and we're in Amsterdam. Fucked off our heads. In the hotel room and the cable MTV has 'Clocks' on. Brilliant song, I say. Fuck away with you, she says. We fought.

Years later and Chris Martin turns up on 'Extras'. I laugh. She grimaces. We fight.

Say what you like about Coldplay, but they have irritated me for many years.

Noticed a big gap in ma muzik from about 84-89. This was due to BMX after listening to DMX.

    Conspiracy.

    That's normal.

    I'm not kidding.

I checked my vinyl and I have two - count them - two records from (roughly) that period that I actually bought. And one of those is by Julian Cope.
